KSrelief Celebrates Humanitarian Leadership: A Compassion & Innovation

Riyadh, February 24, 2025 – Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has provided aid to 106 countries, with total contributions exceeding $7.3 billion, Supervisor-General Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah announced at the Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum.

Held under the theme “Navigating the Future of Humanitarian Response,” the forum marks KSrelief’s ceremony brings together global experts and UN officials. Al-Rabeeah highlighted that Saudi Arabia’s charitable contributions over the past 50 years have surpassed $133.8 billion, with KSrelief leading 3,355 relief projects in partnership with 211 organizations worldwide.

According to the source, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan commended KSrelief’s efforts in crisis-hit regions, including Palestine, Syria, Yemen, and Sudan. He also praised KSrelief’s Masam project for clearing landmines in Yemen and its role in humanitarian diplomacy.

The forum, featuring 21 sessions and 132 speakers, aims to foster collaboration and innovation in humanitarian response. It also calls for increased financial support from global donors to enhance crisis response efficiency.

At the opening ceremony, KSrelief signed four major agreements, including:

  • $300 million with WHO for polio eradication.
  • $200 million with UNICEF.
  • $100 million with the Islamic Development Bank.
  • A renewed cooperation with the World Food Programme.

International humanitarian leaders, including WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and ICRC Director General Pierre Krahenbuhl, praised Saudi Arabia’s commitment to humanitarian diplomacy in conflict zones such as Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, and Syria.
